How to notify us when a member passes away

We understand this is an incredibly difficult time and a huge undertaking. Please know that we are here to support and guide you through this process with care and compassion.

When a member passes away, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Notify Us
    Contact our member support team as soon as possible to report the passing. You can do this by visiting any Red Canoe branch or calling us at 1 (800) 562 - 5611.

  2. Provide Documentation

    • A physical, legal copy of the member’s death certificate is required.
    • We will also need basic information about the person reporting the death, such as name and contact details.
  3. Additional Requirements

    • Depending on the circumstances, we may require estate documents.
Please note: The credit union does not follow wills when handling accounts.
